Gibbs Gears are currently looking for some Quality Inspectors as well as a Quality manager.
Quality manager job role
Plans and directs the overall Quality program for Gibbs Gears Precision Engineers Ltd. Establishes quality policies and procedures and ensures conformance with established company, and site needs and objectives.
Develops and implements the product and quality systems and facilitates corrective actions to ensure conformity with customer requirements. Interfaces with customers as needed.
Generally, operates with appreciable latitude for non-reviewed action and decision making.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills.
Minimum of five years as a Quality Engineer or equivalent experience. Gear and transmission knowledge an advantage but not critical.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and manage in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with NDT processes, heat treating, inspection methods, coordinate measuring machines and other measuring and test equipment.
Working knowledge of applicable manufacturing and quality requirements including ISO 9001, AS 9100, and QS 9000.
Proficient in the use of personal computers, blueprint reading, geometric tolerances, and application of SPC to the manufacturing process.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and public speaking skills, and an understanding of aerospace requirements.
Quality inspectors job role
Inspect and validate customer parts within the inspection lab
Use of inspection equipment and tools including CMM, Wenzel gear checking and Zeiss.
Audit all departments in line with audit processes.
Implement CI and lean activities within the quality inspection department 5S
Complete ISIR, First and final inspection and FAIR’s. Software training to be provided
Customer and supplier visits when applicable.
Complete PPS and 8D investigations and reports and feedback to customers findings
Review and action SPC data when required
Communicate with customers by phone and email
Maintain calibration system
